Frosted Breton vanilla - a rare, exceptional product waiting to be discovered!
The crystallisation of vanillin on the pods is a sign of very high quality.
It is the high vanillin content in the pod that emerges and forms this 'frost', visible as tiny crystals, like fine flakes or small white filaments, depending on the degree of crystallisation. Not to be confused with mould!
It all comes down to the refining and drying method.
Uses:
A single frosted vanilla pod from Brittany is enough to create delicate desserts or sweet treats: crème brûlée, flans, ice cream, ganaches, whipped cream... Gentle heat brings out its aromas.
It can also be infused in hot drinks: hot chocolate, milk, tea, coffee, or used in cocktails.
