Before starting this Wheat Tortillas recipe, make sure you have organised all the necessary ingredients.
In the stand mixer recipient, shape the flour into a fountain. In the centre, place the salt and olive oil.
Bring the water to a boil, then add it to the other ingredients in the bowl.
Combine well with a spatula...
... until the dough is smooth and homogeneous.
Shape into a ball...
... and set aside for about 30 minutes, covered with a clean cloth.
Cut the dough into 4 equal portions.
With your hands, shape each portion into a ball.
Using a rolling pin, roll out each ball...
... into an even disc.
Preheat a frying pan with non-stick coating.
Place one tortilla...
... in the hot frying pan...
... and cook for about 2 or 3 minutes...
... on one side.
Flip the tortilla...
... and cook for a further 2-3 minutes.
Transfer onto a serving plate...
... and repeat the above steps for the rest of the tortillas.
Tortillas tend to swell up during cooking. Lightly prick the air bubbles with the tip of a knife...
... to prevent them from expanding.
