Prepare all the ingredients
In a bowl, soften the butter using a wooden spatula.
Incorporate your selction of chopped ingredients. For a butter "Maître d'Hôtel", add chopped parsley and lemon juice.
Add fine salt and ground pepper.
Mold the butter into parchment paper using a metal spatula...
...and shape it into rolls of about 3 cm diameter.
Store in the fridge to harden the butter. You may freeze these rolls for later use.
When serving, remove the butter from the paper and slice it into 0,5 to 1 cm pieces.
