Grown on the slopes of Kilimanjaro, as well as in the Kagera and Morogoro regions of Tanzania, these Planifolia variety pods benefit from volcanic soils rich in basalt, ideal for developing remarkable aromatic qualities.
It is known as 'vegetable' vanilla, with a high vanillin content and woody, vegetal, hay and almost leathery notes. It is a raw and rare vanilla to discover!
It adds a delicate flavour to creams, ice creams and fine pastries.
But also to exotic dishes such as meat or fish curries.
Directions for use:
Cut the vanilla pod in half lengthwise, scrape out the seeds with the tip of a knife, then add them and the whole pod to a liquid preparation (allow about 1 pod per litre).
Heat gently to 70°C for 20 minutes, then leave to cool.
For an even more intense flavour, leave the mixture to infuse in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
