Arrowroot is a gluten-free starch, very useful for thickening sauces, soups, jellies, custards and all types of desserts that you want to lighten by substituting 1/3 of the flour with this starch.
Arrowroot is a starch extracted from the rhizome of a tropical plant.
Simply dissolve the arrowroot in a cold liquid to avoid lumps (water, milk, stock) and then add it to your preparation before bringing to the boil.
Dosage: 1 spoonful of arrowroot will thicken about 0.25 L of preparation.

Arrowroot is also used in cosmetics and in health, for example to relieve heartburn.
