These morel mushrooms undergo rigorous selection and dehydration to intensify their flavours and prolong their shelf life.
Through a simple and natural technique, you can now cook with wild mushrooms as if they were freshly picked!
Harvested from February to May, the morel mushroom, characterized by its small brown cone-shaped caps and intricate honeycomb-like patterns, stands out as one of the rarest mushrooms, not commonly found everywhere. It boasts a delicate hazelnut flavour with a hint of oak. The special morels offered by Plantin have been carefully trimmed to remove their stems, leaving behind only the tender and flavourful caps.
Applications:
To prepare, soak the dried mushrooms in boiling water for 15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Once rehydrated, drain and incorporate the mushrooms into a variety of recipes, including pasta dishes, risottos, omelettes, meat dishes, and vegetable sautés.
Good to know:
When rehydrated, a dried morel mushroom will increase to 3.5 times its original weight.
10 grams of dried morels will therefore be equivalent to 35 grams of fresh morels.
