Pumpkin en Soupière
  • For : 8 servings

For this recipe, you need :

  • 1 large slightly flattened pumpkin
  • 400 g onions
  • 500 g diced bacon
  • 1 baguette thinly sliced and grilled
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Butter
  • Grated cheese
  • 1 large glass of milk

Technical Stages :

  • Delicately cut off the top of the pumpkin with its stem. Empty it with a large spoon.
  • Remove the seeds to grill them.
  • Leave about 2 cm thick flesh inside the pumpkin.
  • sauté the diced bacon. Place them aside.
  • In the same pan, fry the minced onions and set them aside.
  • Using the same pan again, grill the sliced bread.
  • Then fill the pumpkin alternatively with diced bacon, onions, croutons, and pumpkin flesh. Add salt, pepper and butter and a bit of grated cheese between each layer. Finish with a large glass of milk.
  • Close with the lid and bake in oven (150°C - 300°F) for 2 hours.
  • Serve the pumpkin on a large dish with a salad crown around.
