Chili con carne

Ingredients for Chili con carne :

  • 250 g red beans
  • 250 g minced beef meat
  • 3 onions
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1/2 red pepper
  • 800 g tomatoes
  • 2 tsp powdered chili
  • 1/2 tsp powdered cumin
  • oregano
  • oil
  • salt

Prepare all the ingredients.

Soak the beans in cold water for 12 hours.

Drain them and place them in a stewpan. Cover with cold water and cook them for a good hour on medium heat.

Meanwhile, mince the onions...

...and dice the red pepper. Chop the garlic.

In a frying pan, heat a bit of oil.

Add vegetables...

...and sweat them for a few minutes.

Add chopped meat...

...and cook it by shredding it using a fork.

Once beans are cooked, drain them...

...and return them to the stewpan.

Add meat and vegetables mixture.

Add tomatoes that have been previousely peeled, seeded, and crushed...

...the bouquet garni, spices and salt.

Add a large glass of water...

...and leave to cook covered for about 30 minutes. Check cooking !
